When I was a youngster, happiness was a brand new box of
crayons. I took delight in every color, the more, the merrier.
I majored in commercial art and graphic design at Colorado State
University, Ft. Collins, graduating in 1967. I then
married Jim, a career Air Force officer, whose assignments took
us from Mississippi to Alaska to Germany and Denmark.
Throughout those years I became more and more interested in the
fine arts, especially the Impressionist painters. Mentors and
instructors Iíve admired include Jeanne MacKenzie, Greg
McHuron, Ralph Oberg, Kay Stratman, Skip Whitcomb, and Kathy Wipfler.
In 2010 I discovered a new passion: oriental brush painting.
Having lived in a wide variety of areas as a child and later as
an Air Force wife, I feel fortunate to be at home in one of the
most beautiful places on the planet. We built our home at the
head of Boulder Lake at the base of the Wind River Mountains,
WY, and can jump on our ponies and ride the Bridger-Teton
Wilderness trails which are just outside our door. I canít
imagine anything better.
I am a long-standing member of Mixed Media artists, Sublette
County Artistsí Guild, and the Wyoming Artistsí Association in
which I held all offices including that of president and hosted
the annual WAA convention in Pinedale in 1997. In 2010, I was
chosen Grand Wyoming Artist by the Wyoming Artistsí Association.
